One Call is an institute dedicated to the engagement, empowerment, and ongoing support of young liturgical musicians. Specifically, our mission is to form young people and their advocates to live the call of the Gospel through the ministries of music, prayer, and social justice.
Taking place at Saint John’s University in Collegeville, MN, this institute is led by an outstanding team of clinicians, composers, and master teachers, youth and adult participants experience an exciting series of classes, workshops, break-outs, and rehearsals.
When Peter speaks of a “A Living Hope” he is speaking of a hope that is energizing and engaged -it is a hope that is active in the soul of the believer, one that inspires service and evangelization. Throughout the week, in our prayer and formation sessions, we’ll be exploring how our baptism in Jesus Christ calls us to this living hope.
We chose to center this passage from Peter as the theme because our week will culminate with a Eucharistic celebration of the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul. Both of these saints are important models of conversion. While they grappled with their faith, made mistakes, and struggled with doubt, they still became extraordinary examples of discipleship and Christian leadership. As young people discern their next steps in life and their role in the Church, they can look to the examples of Peter and Paul as guidance.
Christ looks to all of us to be living stones upon which he builds his Church. Fueled by the living hope offered to us in baptism, we’ll seek to live the call of the Gospel through the ministries of music, prayer, and social justice.
